Holter Recording Instructions 

The success of the recording depends on your cooperation. You are expected to keep track of your activities and symptoms in the diary. Please record:

  • Exercise

Any or all of the following symptoms:

  • Chest Pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Palpitations
  • Light Headedness
  • Dizziness

Important Points to Remember:

  • Do not shower, bathe or swim. Any moisture will loosen the electrodes and water will destroy the computer.
  • Do not use body powder or talcum.
  • Avoid using electric blankets, as they may interfere with the recording.
  • Keep recorder straps around your waist or shoulder while moving about.
  • Do not remove any tape that has been placed over the lead wires.
  • If a lead wire comes unsnapped from an electrode, snap it back on and enter this in your diary.

NOTE: DO NOT open the monitor. DO NOT detach the monitor.

Please return the entire carrying case (straps, belt). You are fully responsible for the recording device.

 

Nuclear Stress Test Instructions

  • No caffeine 24 hours before the test, including coffee, decaf, tea, soda, and chocolate.
  • Nothing to eat or drink, including water, 4 hours before test. 
  • The day of the test, take medications with sips of water.
  • If you are on Aggrenox, do not take it 24 hours before the test.
  • If you are diabetic, take half of your usual dosages of your diabetes medication before the test.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

The test takes up to 4-5 hours.
